VOICES FROM THE FRONTLINES: Bearing Fruit in Maracay

An Update from Venezuela and the Story of a New Believer Preaching the Gospel

“By the Lord’s mercy, we continue to advance in the Grace Community Biblical Mission in Maracay, Venezuela.

Sundays

We continue to have our regular consecutive sermons on the Gospel of John, currently in Chapter 7. In Sunday school, we are studying biblical theology, examining each of the biblical covenants until we reach the final fulfillment of God’s eternal purpose, which is Christ’s death on the cross.

Also, one Sunday a month, after our time of worshiping the Lord, we stay to eat together. We’ve called this time the Congregational Agape, and these times are very beneficial. We have time for discussion on a biblical topic.

Tuesday Prayer

On Tuesdays, we continue to have our prayer time. Every Tuesday, we gather to pray and entreat God for ourselves and for the community where we are serving, asking the Lord to help us be the Light of the world and the salt of the earth.

Evangelism, Works of Mercy, and Online Studies on Wednesdays

On Wednesdays, we have an online Bible study where we are studying the History of Christianity. It is very beneficial to see the purposes of our God throughout the history of the church. We study important figures and events from each century, their councils, and theological controversies.

We also continue preaching at “La Casa de los Abuelos” and delivering food on Wednesday mornings. This past month of June, it was a great joy to see Alfonso preach. Alfonso is a new believer who has been with us since we started. He has borne much fruit; he is committed to Christ and has a desire to preach Christ. He preached at “La Casa de los Abuelos,” and it was a great blessing. May God raise up more open-air preachers among us.

We were able to give food bags to the workers at the grandparents’ home; they volunteer every day cooking for vulnerable people.

Saturday Bible Study in the Santa Rita Community

I woul also like to report that after several Saturdays at the Santa Rita Community Center for Bible studies, last Saturday we concluded our studies on the doctrines of grace.

We will have an evangelism time in the community of El Oasis, one block from “la cachapera” in Santa Rita, very close to where we do the Bible study. Please pray that the Lord gives us grace to faithfully preach His message.

Please continue to pray for us, my beloved brothers and sisters, and continue to pray for Venezuela”.

In Christ,
Rafael Rodríguez
