VOICES FROM THE FRONT LINES: Impact and Hope in Santiago, Dominican Republic

Impact and Hope: Victor Dominguez in Santiago, Dominican Republic

An Update from Pastor Victor Dominguez

Greetings in Christ! I want to share with you the wonderful ways God is working through the partnership between Biblical Christian Missionary (BCM) and our church, Iglesia Bautista Remanente De Cristo, here in Santiago, Dominican Republic. On behalf of our congregation, our community, and myself as pastor, I want to express my deep gratitude for the invaluable support that has blessed us in so many ways.

How Your Support Makes a Difference:

By God’s grace, we have received vital assistance with:

Spiritual Growth & Guidance: We’ve received help with counseling and evangelism efforts.

Community Care: We’ve been able to organize medical and visual outreach programs in collaboration with other ministries.

Meeting Basic Needs: Your support allowed us to supply essential medicines and food for the most vulnerable families in our church and community, sharing both physical nourishment and the Bread of Life.

Pastoral Support: I am also personally grateful for the support for our family, church and ministry work.

Ministry Highlights: Reaching Out with the Gospel

Our church, Remanente de Cristo, is small in number but strong in prayer and faith. We call ourselves “Remnant” because we have survived many attacks, and a faithful group remains firm. The encouragement and resources from partners through BCMS empower us to persevere. Here’s how your recent support has been put into action:

  • School Partnerships: We’ve partnered with local public schools near our church, working with their staff to identify students from families facing significant hardship.
  • Evangelistic Outreach: We invited these students and their families to special evangelistic church services. We also organized community evangelism events involving our church members and support from other churches.
  • Food Distribution: Following the services, we gave the families identified through the schools and community outreach generous food packages containing staples like rice, beans, oil, salami, pasta, tomato sauce, bouillon cubes, sardines, sugar, eggs, milk, and bread. We were able to do this over several weeks, reaching many families.
  • Ongoing Care: We continue to identify and assist other individuals in need whom we encounter during evangelism. We plan to use the remaining resources for critical medicines and medical tests for members facing hardship.

Impact and Looking Ahead:

We are actively following up with the families we’ve assisted. While some attend other churches or are unbelievers, we are encouraged that several have started attending our services. They may fluctuate in their attendance and haven’t yet accepted Christ, but we understand that meeting physical needs often opens the door for sharing the Gospel. We trust the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts as we continue to sow the seeds of faith, knowing our labor in the Lord is not in vain. We plan to continue these outreach efforts, inviting more families in the coming weeks, Lord willing.

Gratitude & A Call to Prayer :

We are incredibly thankful for the support and generosity makes this work possible. Please continue to pray with us for:

The strengthening and expansion of this ministry here on our island and beyond.

God’s blessing and protection on the BCM team, shielding them from the enemy’s attacks as this work rescues souls for Christ.

The families we are reaching, that the seed of the Gospel would take root and grow.

Thank you for partnering with us in sharing the love and hope of Jesus Christ!

In Christ,

Pastor Victor Dominguez
