A conference on “Cultivating an Evangelistic Culture in the Local Church” was held at Iglesia Bautista Yaguita de Pastor in Santiago. By God’s grace, ninety-six people were in attendance by the end of the night, and the event seemed to be well-received.

Pastor Smith Dumont of of the hosting church, Iglesia Bautista Yaguita de Pastor commented,
“The conference was tremendous. Thank you for equipping and blessing us with those teachings. We are thankful to the Lord for the messages and how he used the expositors to speak to the Haitian community of Yaguita de Pastor. May the Lord allow us to serve His people together again in the future.”
This sentiment was shared by other attendees as well.

The conference aimed to equip believers for effective Gospel sharing and the development of an evangelistic culture within their churches. The four sessions covered:
Session 1: Building a Foundation for Missions: Evangelism
Session 2: Cultivating a Culture of Evangelism in the Church
Session 3: Sustaining a Culture of Evangelism
Session 4: Practical Strategies for Evangelism

Despite the expositors receiving only session topics, the messages and Scripture integration throughout the conference connected seamlessly. The Gospel was presented and explained in various ways, emphasizing:
The importance of being able to give a clear articulation of the Gospel, specifically the person and work of Jesus, and guiding others to relevant Scriptures.
An eternal perspective on fellow image-bearers, recognizing their need for salvation.
Cultivating a heart that breaks for the lost, desiring God’s glory through their salvation.

Worship was conducted in both Spanish and Haitian Creole, and all messages were translated for accessibility. Following the conference, Pastor Menor, who assisted with translations, requested that the conference be brought to the church in Barrio Lindo as well.

We are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to have partnered with Iglesia Bautista Yaguita de Pastor and the community for this activity. We anticipate seeing the long-term impact of the conference and pray for continued growth and the spread of a passion for evangelism throughout more local churches in the region.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. – Romans 1:16 (CSB)
